Job Summary: The Senior Finance Officer will offer technical support in the areas of financial management, accounting and record keeping with specific responsibilities in the area of budget development and financial monitoring.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
*Oversee the maintenance of financial filing systems
*Offer technical support in the preparation of annual program budgets
*Review vouchers / invoices to verify commitment; items claimed are in accordance with agreements and actual delivery
*Supervise day to day banking operations i.e. accounts payable, checking accounts and manage petty cash and any other banking operations.
*Provide support in proposal development
*Prepare the payroll and all statutory contribution schedules as per FHI 360 requirements and statutory requirements
*Coordinate and maintain accurate payment procedures with all departments
*Perform monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations
*Offer technical assistance to field offices
*Prepare updates on financial status reporting to project monitors
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
*The candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree of Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
*Professional accounting qualifications like ACCA, CPA will be an added advantage.
*Previous working knowledge of USAID operations, finance and administrative practices.
*The Finance should possess at least five years experience in a similar environment with exposure to project accounting, financial management including grants, contracts and budgeting
*Experience managing staff
*Excellent planning and organizational skills.
